Executive Management

Nordic Mines’ management consists of four persons.

Michael Nilsson, (born 1957) Chief Executive Officer.
Michael Nilsson has many years’ of experience of managing and assisting boards in the mining business. He is a chemical engineer and holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in geology and geophysics, as well as being appointed qualified person by SweMin. He has previously been a board member of Terra Mining Oy, subsidiary of TerraMining and Scanor Mining AS. He has held the position of CEO of ScanMining Oy as well as of ScanMining. Michael Nilsson is, privately and through the wholly owned share holding company AB Millekonsult, one of the company’s major shareholders.  

Peter Finnäs, (born 1962) Explorations Manager, since January 2006.
Peter Finnäs has many years’ of experience of the mining business and holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in geology and mineralogy. He has previously worked as exploration geologist for Endomines Oy and Kalvinit Oy as well as both mining and exploration geologist for Terra Mining AB. Peter Finnäs lives in Finland and he owns shares in the company.

Peter Kuiper, (born 1961) Development Manager since January 2006.
Peter Kuiper has many years’ of experience of managing and assisting boards in the mining business. He holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in geology and is appointed qualified person by SweMin. He has previously held positions as a board members of TerraMining and Scanor Mining AS. He has also been head of exploration of TerraMining as well as chief technical officer and head of development of ScaMining. Peter Kuiper owns shares in the company.

Hannu Vehmanen (born 1953) Chief Financial Officer since January 2007. Hannu Vehmanen, who was born and raised in Finland, holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics. He has many years’ of experience of being in charge of administration and as a controller of many listed, international companies. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Consultant-Business Intelligence of the ACC Group. Previous positions include Vice President of the Sollentuna Fair and Finance & Administration Manager, Nordic Region for AP/Dow Jones Telerate and Motorola AB. Hannu Vehmanen owns shares in the company.
